Strength for today, bright hope for tomorrow

E'en for the dead I will not bind my soul to grief;
Death cannot long divide.
For is it not as though the rose that climbed my garden wall
Has blossomed on the other side?
Death does hide
But not divide;
You are but on Christ's other side!
You are with Christ, and Christ is with me;
In Christ united still are we.

Thank you all one and all for your messages of love and prayers! Even those of you who don't comment - I know you are there :0) and I am grateful for you.
I found this verse at the end of today's reading in 'Streams in the Desert'. I think it sums up what I might have wanted to say about my state of mind as I slowly try and return to normality after the depths of sorrow I expererienced last week.
I would also love to write more on this amazing lady that was my Grandmother. Soon. I promise!
For now, all is peace...

  1. I'm glad you are beginning to feel some peace.

  2. So glad you're back safely.

  3. Coucou la belle,
    Glad you got back safely after the blustering day we had on Sunday !!!
    Je t'envoie bientot les photos que j'ai de Grand Maman.
    Gros bisous

  4. emsy. Enfin!!!!! C'est super de me laisser un p'tit commentaire :) Je me rejouis des photos
    Melissa and RK, I am so grateful for your prayers and support. Truly.

  5. Death cannot long divide...
    So true. Cling to that, my friend! And I'm so looking forward to hearing more about your amazing grandmother...
    Love to you...

  6. While penning down a new post today on similar subject, I had decided to quote " Even for the dead..." but I had only first four lines. In my search for the full verse, I per chance stumbled upon your post, which was very very soothing for the soul.
